Gear I recommend to people coming out of my classes -- first aid, AEDs, and fire safety basics.

Three places to start. The AEDs I sell and support myself. The first aid gear and home safety products are things I have used or recommend, linked so you can order them direct. If you are not sure what you need, call before you buy. That part is free.

AEDs and Accessories

Authorized HSI dealer for Philips, ZOLL, HeartSine, and Defibtech. Every package includes medical direction, so your AED program is covered on paper as well as on the wall. Pads and batteries expire, and I track those dates for local customers so you are not finding out during an emergency. If you need help working out which unit fits your building or your boat, call me before you order.

First Aid and CPR Gear

Pocket masks, tourniquets, QuikClot, Israeli bandages, and complete kits. This is the same gear I hand people in class, which means I can tell you how it works and what it is actually for. Nothing here is filler. If you took a class from me and want the kit we practiced with, this is where to find it.

Home and Fire Safety

Smoke alarms, CO alarms, fire blankets, escape ladders, and extinguisher brackets. Twenty five years in the fire service taught me which of these matter and which ones end up in a drawer. Sitka houses are older, heat is expensive, and the weather does not help. These are the basics I would want in my own place.
