What's Included in a Fire Extinguisher Inspection?
Required every 12 months by NFPA 10 and the Alaska Fire Code for all commercial, multi-unit residential, and marine properties. A certified technician performs a full external and operational check of every unit. We check the dates, identify what's due, and handle everything from there.
- Full visual and mechanical inspection of each unit
- Pressure gauge check and tamper seal verification
- Label and rating legibility check
- Mounting and accessibility verification
- NFPA 10 compliant inspection tag on each unit
Required every six years for dry chemical and CO2 extinguishers under NFPA 10. The cylinder is fully discharged, internally inspected, cleaned, and recharged with fresh agent. Island Fire & Safety can help coordinate this service -- if your inspection turns up a unit that needs an internal inspection, we'll work through it with you. Pitts Enterprise handles the work, and we pass their cost straight through with no markup.
