What happens to your info
Short version: nothing you type here comes to us.
Your numbers and the form
The city's form is filled in by your own browser, on your own phone or computer. Your sales numbers, account number, and signature are never sent to us or anyone else. There's no account to sign up for and no database.
Nothing is kept, not even in your browser
- What you type lives only in the open page. Close the tab or the browser and it's gone. Nothing is stored in your browser's storage, cookies, or anywhere else.
- If you close the page with info you haven't saved, your browser asks first, so you don't lose it by accident.
If you want to skip the typing next time
- "Save my info to a file" puts a file in your Downloads. It has your business info (name, address, account #, signature), the numbers you typed for each form, and your monthly payments.
- That file is yours. Keep it on your computer, phone, or a thumb drive. We never see it.
- Next time, drag the file onto the page (or tap to choose it) and everything fills back in.
- Anyone with the file can see what's in it, so treat it like any other business paper.
Files you bring in
Spreadsheets you drop in (CSV or Excel exports from QuickBooks, Square, and so on) are read by your own browser. They're never uploaded. Only the column setup is kept, and only if you save your info file.
What the website itself sees
Like every website, our web host keeps normal visit logs: the time, the page, and your internet address (IP). That's it. Those logs never include anything you type into the form.
No Google Analytics. No Facebook pixel. No ads, no trackers. The fonts and the PDF tool are stored on this site, so no outside company even sees that you visited.
Not tax advice
This tool fills in the city's form from the numbers you give it. You are responsible for checking the numbers and signing the return. Questions about the tax itself: City & Borough of Sitka sales tax office, 907-747-1840.
